Derby City Council was undertaking a major VoIP installation during the implementation of an ambitious communication strategy. The project had been approved with the expectation that the new platform would not only introduce new facilities and support for new working practices, but that the platform would fund itself through reduced ongoing costs.
Key to achieving these savings were significant reductions in PSTN lines and fixed /mobile call charges.
Derby City Council commissioned Ayudar to select the public network provider best able to meet their stringent requirements for cost, current and future facilities and not least, stable service delivery within the extremely challenging time scales the project demanded.
Ayudar managed the whole process from end to end; we collaborated closely with the Council to convert their requirements into a commercial tender, issued it to the suppliers, managed the many requests for additional information and performed the detailed evaluation of the responses.
Following detailed analysis of the various offers we were able to recommend a supplier that met all of the Council’s needs.
Ayudar were able to obtain the very best call rates, service charges and terms and conditions for the Council, we achieved costs that were significantly (c.40%) lower than the ‘standard’ public sector charges.
The supplier that we selected was also able to meet the challenging time scales required and the levels of service required.
The service was delivered to schedule and Derby City Council are now enjoying the cost (and other) benefits resulting from a highly customized procurement exercise.
